Traveling to Costa Rica, Day 1 of the Journey

Today is the first day of our two week Costa Rica Spanish immersion trip! Our group arrived to DFW airport bright-eyed and excited to begin their adventure. We arrived at 12:15pm, passed through customs, and learned a few things en route to our lovely hotel. Students learned that a "soda" does not refer to a soft drink, but rather to a local restaurant that serves traditional Costa Rican fare. We practiced our "pura vida" and learned the multitude of uses for this handy expression. Our student have enjoyed exploring the lush, tropical grounds surrounding their 'cabinas' and enjoyed a delicious snack of fresh papaya, watermelon and pineapple, along with homemade banana bread and popcorn. To drink was fresh passion fruit juice! They have also enjoyed swimming. Dinner will be served soon, then it will be time to get ready for bed and our scenic road trip up the mountains and in to Monteverde. Buenas noches!
